Hangar Party time in Bowling Green is headed your way!
Kick the season into high gear by attending this year’s gala Saturday, June 15, 5-10 pm, at the Bowling Green/Warren County Regional Airport.
Your ticket is ALL-INCLUSIVE giving you access to a delicious barbeque dinner, unlimited free beverages (including beer/wine), aircraft displays, the Tuskegee Airmen exhibit and Bueler’s Day Off at 8 pm.
Air Force Gen. Lloyd W. “Fig” Newton, the Thunderbird’s first African American pilot and a 4-star general will be a special guest at this year’s Hangar Party.
A Tuskegee Airman exhibit, Rise Above, is a preliminary event honoring Willa Brown and leading up to the June party. This large, 360 degree immersive experience into the Tuskegee Airmen will be free and open to the public in the Greenwood Mall parking lot Wednesday, June 12-13, 9 am- 7pm and June 14, 9 am- noon. The exhibit will also be open at the Hangar Party for attendees to tour.
The 2019 event will introduce Aviation Heritage Park’s recently restored Piper J-3 Cub honoring Glasgow native Willa Brown, the first African American women in the U.S. to earn a commercial pilot’s license. She has a long list of accomplishments that includes training many of the Tuskegee Airmen.
Tickets will be on sale online and in select local stores beginning May 15.
Party gates open at 5 p.m. Tickets will be available May 15 at Ford’s Furniture, Nat’s Outdoor Sports, Chuck’s Liquor on Three Springs Road, and Barbara Stewart Interiors, or can be purchased on the Aviation Heritage Park website.Tickets are $40/adults, $15/children six-12, five and under are free. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
