SUMMARY:Relay For Life of Warren County @ Bowling Green Ballpark- Hot Rods Stadium
DESCRIPTION:WHEN: May 31\, 2019 @ 7:00 pm\n\n\nWHERE: Bowling Green Ballpark- Hot Rods Stadium\, 300 E 8th Ave\, Bowling Green\, KY\n\n\nCONTACT: Jill Isom (270) 745-1964\, Email\n\n\nEvent website\n\n\n\nWatch Video \nEvent Details \n\n\n\nRelay For Life is a grassroots\, community-based team event. \nAlthough every Relay For Life event is different\, they do have a few things in common. \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Schedule \n\n\n\n\n\nOpening Ceremony\nTime to get started. We kick off the event by honoring everyone who’s been affected by cancer and everyone who has contributed to the success of this year’s Relay season. \n  \nSurvivor/Caregiver Walk\nSurvivors and Caregivers are the heart and soul of Relay For Life events. We honor their strength and courage with every step they take. It doesn’t matter if you were diagnosed 10 days ago or 10 years ago\, you can walk while everyone gathers together to cheer you on. \n  \nLuminaria Ceremony\nDuring this ceremony we represent everyone touched by cancer with a Luminaria. Each light represents a life—a life taken by cancer\, a survivor of cancer\, or a support for a person still fighting the disease. It’s a powerful demonstration that gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers comfort and hope. \n  \nClosing Ceremony\nOur closing ceremony is the time to commit to take action and help lead the fight for a world free from cancer. It’s a time to celebrate what we’ve accomplished together and a time to unify for the work that needs to be done moving forward.

It is our goal to give the participant as much notice as possible should there be any need for an hourly delay or rescheduling to another day. Our two backup dates are Sunday 6/30/19 and Sat 7/13/19. Please be on the lookout for Trail Fest weather updates emailed to your address on file or from our postings on the Low Hollow Trail Fest & Southwest KyMBA Facebook pages. \nAn electrical storm within the race course area within 30 mins of the start time should be considered potentially life-threatening to runners and cyclists. A determination will be made at the time as to whether the race should be continued as scheduled\, delayed until the storm has passed or postponed to a backup date. The Race Director will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. \nPossible changes include: Altering the start time or in the most extreme situations\, postponement of the event to a backup date. Send runners/cyclists home if there is not an adequate safe shelter for everyone to wait out the storm. Remember\, trees are not safe shelter and lightning can strike up to 10 miles away. Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 30 minutes after the last strike is heard. Additional sightings or rumblings of thunder will continue to delay the race in 30-minute increments. Muddy trail conditions may warrant a postponement. In the event\, a participant cannot make their race due to a postponement the participant is still fully eligible to receive their race packet and T-Shirt. \nNote: Southwest KyMBA Volunteers have over 2500 hours of personal time invested in the Low Hollow Trail. Southwest KyMBA is seeking to add a dual slalom course\, pump track and bike skills course alongside the Low Hollow Trail to achieve The Riverfront Bike Park. SUMMARY:Family Enrichment Center's 24th Annual Run & Walk for Children
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE!!!!  \nDue to the concern surrounding the coronavirus and government officials restricting public gatherings\, we have made the unfortunate decision not to hold the upcoming Family Enrichment Center’s Run Walk for Children presented by German American Bank at Ephram White Park. However\, we will conduct the event virtually! (See below for instructions). \nThe decision was not taken lightly\, but our priority lies with the safety of our running community\, from all of our participants\, volunteers\, and to those who support our event. \n\nThe funds generated from the Run & Walk For Children supports our Wee Care Childcare program and is CRITICAL to keeping our program operating. Family Enrichment Center knows we have a very giving community and we are thankful for our many sponsors like German American Bank\, Kroger\, and Bluegrass Cellular! \nInformation for the Virtual Race: \nWhat is a Virtual Race?\nA virtual race is a race that can be run at any location\, at any time. You can walk or run the distance of your choice. You can complete your race at the gym on a treadmill\, a practice run in town or a stroll in the park. You can run your race at your pace\, wherever you like. \nHow does a virtual race work?\n1. Decide WHICH virtual race you would like to participate in—5K (3.1 miles) or Half-Marathon (13.1 miles) and then register online. \n2. Decide WHEN to run your race! Remember that you can use the treadmill\, run outside\, or walk. You can complete your race at one time or take as many days as you like. \n3. We believe in the honor system so no proof is required for your race\, but it would be awesome if you could upload pictures and tell us about your experience on our Facebook page\, Run/Walk for Children. Please use the hash-tag #RunForKids2020 when posting your photos. \nWhy should I do a virtual race?\n1. The chance to add to your medal collection.\n2. Complete control over your schedule. Complete the race on your own time. No travel expenses\, no hassle with parking and no long lines waiting at the potty.\n3. An opportunity to support a great cause! \nWho can participate?\nEverybody and anybody! There is no age limit and there are no restrictions. So run\, jog\, walk\, crawl\, run alone\, run in a group\, run with your pet\, bike\, hike\, it does not matter. Just get out there and get moving! \nWhen will I receive my finisher’s medal?\nOn April 15th (if not before) we will be sending an email to all registered participants with further details on how to collect your event shirt and finishers medal. \nRegistration for the Virtual Event will continue to be open until Saturday\, March 28\, 2020\, and will close at 7:30 a.m. CST. If you have any questions feel free to contact our office. \n_________________________ \n\n  \nMark your calendar and begin training for the 24th Annual Family Enrichment Center Run and Walk for Children to be held on Saturday\, March 28\, 2020. Funds from this event support child abuse prevention services in South Central Kentucky. \nThere are are several great options for your entire family: Half Marathon (13.1 miles)\, 5K Run/5K Fun Walk\, (3.1 miles)\, and the Kid’s 1 Mile Run. \nRace registration will also be available at the race expo and on race day for an increased fee. \nATTENTION!!! Multi-Person Pricing is available for the Half Marathon\, 5K Run\, and 5K Walk events. To receive the $2.00 per registrant discount\, ALL registrants and/or team members must be entered in one session.  A single person joining a team after the team is created will not receive a discount. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPLACE\nEphram White Park\n885 Mt Olivet Rd\nBowling Green\, KY US 42101
